    (Reuters) - General Motors Corp and Chrysler LLC are considering accepting a pre-arranged bankruptcy as the last-resort price of getting a multi billion dollar government bailout, Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with internal discussions.
  • Asian shares retreat as economic fears nag
    HONG KONG (Reuters) - Asian shares fell on Thursday as more bad news piled up for the global economy, while the dollar and yen steadied as central banks in the UK and Europe were set to cut interest rates to their lowest in years.
  • Credit Suisse to cut more jobs after $2.5 billion loss
    ZURICH (Reuters) - Swiss bank Credit Suisse said on Thursday it made a net loss of about 3 billion Swiss francs ($2.5 billion) in the two months to the end of November, and announced it would shed another 5,300 jobs.
  • Oil falls below $46, lowest in nearly 4 years
    SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Oil fell below $46 a barrel to its lowest in nearly four years on Thursday, extending four consecutive days of falls as continued demand worries minimized bullish draws in U.S. oil stocks.

    AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Philips Electronics said on Thursday it did not expect to meet its mid-term profit target as market conditions for its Consumer Lifestyle and parts of its Lighting units were deteriorating.
