In El Dorado County when someone says "crystals," you usually think "quartz." You will find both local and worldwide quartz crystals in a Special Exhibit plus 40 other displays at the 23rd Annual Rock and Gem Show on October 21-22 at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive (off Highway 50), Placerville.
Presented by the El Dorado County Mineral and Gem Society, the show will also have over 30 dealers selling and showing gems, minerals, jewelry, beads, fossils, amber, opals, carvings, lapidary material, equipment, supplies and, yes, quartz crystals. Enjoy free ongoing demonstrations; free rocks and activities for children; gold panning; geode cutting and other events. Great food on the premises. A fun time for the entire family.
Admission: adults $3; free for kids 12 & under. Bring a wearable coat for a kid and get free admission for an adult. Show hours 10 AM - 5 PM both days.
