Celebration of Women in History

The Folsom History Museum sponsors the 4th annual Women in History fundraising celebration; this year's "A Salute to the Arts" presents first-person narratives by Melissa Stevenson of Biologues. She brings to life four famous women who challenged society's view of women: Isadora Duncan, a tortured soul who pioneered a free style of dance; Georgia O Keefe, whose desert painting won recognition and respect; Frida Kahlo, who overcame severe pain, finding passion in art; Lola Montez, a woman of questionable morals who danced into the hearts of many; also silent auction, live music, refreshments; 2-4pm, Folsom Community Center; $20 adult; $10 children 12-17 (not for under 12); tickets only in advance at museum, 916-985-2707.
