Ras Sheehama is an established Namibian Afro-reggae singer/song-writer. During the war of Independence, whilst in exile in Angola, Ras, at the age of 13, started developing his songwriting skills. Later, at 15, he felt a calling to the Rastafarian way of life and his love for reggae began. Ras further developed his musical talent in Nigeria and returned to Namibia before Independence in 1990. In the wake of his travels, Ras developed a unique Afro-reggae/latin fusion sound which combined with his incredible melodious voice results in a powerful and sensitive vibe.
Today he is, without doubt, the most accomplished contemporary Namibian performer and has already released four successful albums.
Sheehama has performed in Germany Africa Festival in Wurzburg, England, Cuba, Portugal, France, and at the Montreux Jazz, The Fêtes de Genève. In 2001 he was the opening act for the legendary reggae artist Don Carlos in Johannesburg.
