  • Retailers offer deals, discounts on 'Cyber Monday' (AP)

    AP - Laptop, cell phone and iPod owners tired of having their devices run out of charge after a few hours have been patiently waiting for the next portable power source to arrive.
  • Regulators hang up on cell tower backup rules (AP)
    AP - Federal regulators have rejected proposed changes by the Federal Communications Commission that would require all U.S. cell phone towers to have at least eight hours of backup power.
  • Clearwire to market WiMax under "Clear" brand (AP)
    AP - Newly merged company Clearwire Corp. says it plans to sell its wireless broadband service under the brand name of "Clear."
  • EFF to court: Don't shield telecoms from illegal-spying suits (CNET)
    CNET - The Electronic Frontier Foundation, an advocacy group for Internet users, is expected to argue in court on Tuesday that it's unconstitutional to prevent Americans from suing the telecom companies that allegedly helped the federal government unlawfully spy on them.
  • Mumbai Terrorism, Worm Warning, Holiday Woe (PC World)
    PC World - A wave of coordinated terrorist attacks across Mumbai late Wednesday dominated the news this week, with bloggers and people using Twitter helping to get information to families and friends of those affected. Multinational technology companies are not expected to change their business strategies as a consequence of the stunning attacks, which targeted westerners.
